Rent a Terraria server

Terraria needs little hardware and a lot of administration. So what you get here isn't the biggest machine, it's the most complete panel.

What you can configure yourself

101 fields from the TShock `config.json` in the control panel: player count, password, permission groups, spawn protection, item bans, chat rules. Plus a world reset straight from the panel, and changes apply via `/reload` without kicking everyone off.

Why TShock instead of the bundled server

The server that ships with Terraria does exactly one thing: let players connect. No permission management, no griefing protection, no way to ban a single item that can wreck a world.

TShock is the server extension that adds all of it: groups and permissions, region protection, commands, plugins. We pre-install it, because a Terraria server without it becomes unusable the moment a stranger plays on it.

Worlds and plugins

You generate a new world in the panel, including size and difficulty. An existing `.wld` from single-player uploads via the file manager. TShock plugins go in the plugin folder and activate with `/reload`: no restart, nobody gets kicked.

Frequently asked questions

Can I bring my single-player world?

Yes, upload the `.wld` file via the file manager and select it as the active world in the panel. Your character stays local.

How do I protect my builds from griefing?

Through TShock regions and group permissions in the panel. You can lock areas and ban specific items or blocks for specific groups.

Is the smallest tier enough?

For most Terraria runs, yes. If unsure, start small. You can move up later rather than paying for months of unused headroom.

How do my friends connect?

Multiplayer → “Join via IP”, enter the address first and the port from the control panel in the next step. The game asks for a password afterwards if you set one.

How many players fit on it?

You set the cap in the control panel (field “Max players”), plus reserved slots for admins. Terraria needs little hardware; large worlds and many plugins still raise memory use.

What happens when Terraria or TShock updates?

TShock is loaded in its current version at setup and doesn't update itself. When a new version is out, open a ticket and we install it. It usually takes TShock a few days to support a new Terraria update. That's up to the TShock project, not us.

How do I back up my world?

In the “Backups” tab you keep up to 7 backups, download or restore them. On top, the server makes one automatically every night; the last 7 are kept, and one you mark with “Lock” is never deleted. Always take one before a world reset in the control panel.

Do I have to cancel when I want to stop?

No. Billing is monthly in advance: if you don't pay the next invoice, the contract ends with the paid period. You can cancel at any time via “Cancel contract” in the client area, effective at the end of the paid period. After that the server is suspended and deleted three days later, backups included. Download your world from the “Backups” tab first.
