Wreckfest: Demolition derby racing, anonymous SteamCMD

Rent a Wreckfest server

What you can configure yourself

31 fields from `server_config.cfg` in the control panel: server name, password, player count, track list, lap count, damage model, collision rules and vehicle classes. Wreckfest has no RCON. That's the game, not us, and we'd rather write it down than promise remote control that doesn't exist.

Your own track lists instead of random rotation

The appeal of your own Wreckfest server is the line-up: which tracks in which order, how many laps, which vehicle classes, how much damage. On public servers you get whatever is set, on your own, exactly what the group wants.

The track list sits in the panel as its own section. Changes apply from the next race, without anyone being dropped from the session.

Provisioning

We install the Wreckfest server anonymously via SteamCMD, so you never deposit your Steam credentials. It sounds like a detail, but it's the point where we don't want to see your account details and you shouldn't hand them out.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to provide Steam credentials?

No. Installation runs anonymously via SteamCMD; we need no account details from you.

Can I define my own track lists?

Yes, in the panel. Tracks, order, lap count and vehicle classes are all settings there.

Is there RCON remote control?

No, Wreckfest doesn't offer it. Administration runs through the panel and the server console.

How do my friends find the server?

Via the in-game server list (internet), searching for the server name from the control panel; with a password the race stays among you. Honestly: we haven't yet checked with a real client that the server shows up there, only the reachable ports are proven. If you can't find it, open a ticket.

How many players fit on it?

You set the cap in the control panel (field “Max players”), within what Wreckfest allows for a race.

What happens when Wreckfest updates?

The server checks for a new version via SteamCMD on every start and downloads it. After an update, a restart in the control panel is enough.

Do I have to cancel when I want to stop?

No. Billing is monthly in advance: if you don't pay the next invoice, the contract ends with the paid period. You can cancel at any time via “Cancel contract” in the client area, effective at the end of the paid period. After that the server is suspended and deleted three days later, backups included. Download your world from the “Backups” tab first.
