Domains on our own nameservers

Register a new domain or transfer it from your current provider. You manage the DNS records yourself in your account. On transfer, you copy your existing records first, so your website and email keep working.

Registration, renewal and transfer cost the same per extension and cover one year. Final prices under § 19 UStG (German small-business rule): no VAT shown. Billed yearly in advance. Our terms (section 2.7) and the linked terms of the respective registry apply.

What's included

Every line describes what is technically behind it — not just what we promise.

You are the holder
The domain is registered in your name, not ours. You get the auth code for a transfer to another provider at any time, free of charge.
Two nameservers, two networks
ns1.mrmedia.network and ns2.mrmedia.network run with two different providers in the EU. If one fails, the other answers. Both keep serving your records for two weeks even if our management system goes down.
DNS management in your account
A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, SRV and CAA, up to 300 records per domain. A change reaches both nameservers within seconds; resolver caches keep the old answer until its TTL runs out.
Transfer without downtime
After ordering, you copy what your domain shows today with one click, check the list, and only then start the transfer. Until then, everything stays with your current provider.
No subscription trap
We only renew once you have paid the invoice. If you don't pay, the domain expires — it costs you nothing.

What's not included

So you don't find out after ordering that something is missing.

  • EmailWe don't host mailboxes or forward mail. Your MX record points to the mail provider of your choice.
  • DNSSECNot yet. If DNSSEC is active at your current provider, switch it off there before the transfer.
  • Transfers for .at, .ch and .liA transfer doesn't extend the term for these extensions. So nothing expires unnoticed, we only take them as new registrations.
  • Several years in advanceEvery domain runs for one year and is then renewed one year at a time.
  • Delegating subdomainsYou can't set NS records in your account.

Transfer in three steps

1 · Order
Enter the domain and the auth code from your current provider, then pay. Providers usually list the code under “transfer domain” — don't cancel the domain there, or it may be deleted.
2 · Copy and check the records
In your account under “Manage DNS”: one click fetches what the domain shows today. Subdomains we can't find from outside and your own mail keys (DKIM) you add there.
3 · Start the transfer
Only now does the order go to the registry. A .de domain moves as soon as the auth code is correct; .com, .net, .org and .eu take up to five days. Cancel your old contract only once everything runs with us.

Questions

Need a server for the domain? See the plans

Just a website? Web hosting

What does a transfer cost?
One year of the extension, and that year is included. What you've already paid your current provider is usually not refunded — the cheapest moment to move is shortly before their renewal.
Will my website go down during the transfer?
Not if all records are with us first — that's what step 2 is for. One risk remains: some resolvers remember the old nameservers for up to two days. If your current provider deletes its records right away, lookups may fail now and then during that time. For no gap at all, switch to ns1.mrmedia.network and ns2.mrmedia.network at your current provider first.
What happens to my email?
The MX record moves with the copied records, so your mail keeps going where it goes today. If your mailbox is part of a package at your current provider, cancel that package only once your mail runs elsewhere — we don't host mailboxes.
My domain is behind Cloudflare.
Then it shows Cloudflare addresses to the outside, which don't work without Cloudflare. We point this out when you copy the records; enter your server's real IP instead.
Can I use my own nameservers?
Yes, enter them when ordering. You then manage your records there, and DNS management with us stays empty.
What happens if I don't pay?
The domain expires at the registry and can then be registered by others. Restoring it is only possible for a short time and at the registry's cost.
